Dr. Umesha Naik is currently working as Professor in the Department of Library and Information Science, at Mangalore University, Mangalagangothri, Mangalore, Karnataka, India. Before this, more than 8 years of Technical and HRD experience at INFLIBNET Centre An IUC of UGC, Ahmedabad from 1994 to 2003. He has more than 31 years of Technical / Professional / Teaching and Research Experience in the field of Library and Information Science. He obtained his B.L.I.Sc. degree from Mangalore University, M.L.I.Sc. from IGNOU, CIC from IGNOU, and Ph.D. from Mangalore University. His areas of specialization are Information and Communication Technology, Networking, Internet, Web Technologies, Digital and Electronic Libraries, etc. He published more than 100 articles/Papers in national and international journals, conferences proceedings, and edited books. He participated and presented papers at international and national conferences, served as a resource person in more than 25, and participated in more than 100 workshops, seminars, and Webinars.
